“Story Catchers” is a performance art program for young people designed to introduce the art of storytelling on stage.
The Angle Project offers two “Story Catchers” programs in the Fall of 2025.
“Story Catchers” for children ages 7-12 will take place on Fridays, 4:30-6pm, September – December, 2025:
- September 5, 12, 19, 26
- October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
- November 7, 14, 21, 28
- December 5, 12, 19, 26
The program will take place at Aspirations Dance Company, 350 S Main St, Lombard, IL 60148 (there’s a parking lot next to the entrance). The space has a spacious waiting room with chairs, restrooms, etc; the waiting room also has a screen through which you can observe what’s happening in class. Also, Helen Plum Library is located right across the street (411 South Main Street Lombard, IL 60148).
This semester we will work on creating a play starting from the first day of class. It is very important that your child has consistent attendance. We will present the play on our last day of class to a friendly audience of friends and family!
In our sessions we will:
- build team working skills through theatre games and activities
- build performance skills
- build improvisation skills
- practice speech and presentation
- learn about stage design elements and story visualization
- learn about putting on a full production and various behind the scenes roles (costume designer, set designer, lighting designer, dramaturge, playwright, director, and stage manager).
The cost of the program is $450 for the semester per child; 20% discount will be applied for each additional child per family.

“Story Catchers Junior” for children ages 3-6 will take place on Tuesdays, 10-11am, September – December, 2025:

This semester we will work on becoming confident performers and develop performance art literacy. Inshallah we will present a showcase of our newly acquired skills on our last day of class to a friendly audience of friends and family!

- work on motor coordination
- build team working skills through theatre games and activities
- build performance skills
- practice speech and presentation
- work on igniting our imagination!
The cost of the program is $400 for the semester per child; 20% discount will be applied for each additional child per family.
